This will allow for DSC alarm panel to be programmed by DLS 2002 software. A simpler way to program the alarm panel for newbies.
What I did was to get old COM cable since I did’t have access to solder iron at that time. For connector to DSC panel you can use ether CD player black audit jack (CD-motherboard cable) or case fan jack. DSC panel is simple 4 jack connector.

3 1 (Serial Input – Serial Data to Alarm Panel – Yellow Wire)

There is a mark on the PC Link connector that corresponds to the end which goes to pin 1, which is clearly marked on DSC panel.
Warning: this is for COM-Port connector, getting COM-port to work on laptops or newer computers over USB-COM (USB to Serial) adapter is not that easy. Only hand full of COM-USB adapters are supported by DLS2002.. 🙁
USB-COM that has worked for some people is: Keyspan USA19-HS, others include (Sabrent and TrendNet USB)
Adapters that do NOT work: StarTech nor Belkin.
