This used to be one of the more complicated things to setup on a go-kart. But since I discovered a [link] setup it made my life simpler. Problem with steering is that a lot of force is needed to keep both of wheels aligned. They both push away or toward each other at same time. So construction needs to be as strong as possible.
Here are few ways to setup on:
Steering rack from car – [link] This is what I used, and I love it. [picture] You could use steering rack from any non power steering car or truck. Just make sure you get u-joint part as well.

Build you own - [picture] Can be expensive since all of the linking parts cost.
